I have never gone through the court systems with a minor. Does anyone know what will happen? She has been acting up a lot lately. She hasn't been going to school and I think she has been doing drugs. I set rules but she never follows them. I'm not sure if they are going to release her since that puts her back in the same environment with her sister and puts her in danger. Does the judge look at these things? The jail isn't giving me much answers. I can't afford a lawyer so she is going to have a court appointed. What should I do? Any help or advice is great appreciated.

I have never been through the juvenile court system. They have not appointed a lawyer to the case and we go to court in 2 days. Just trying to find out how the system works and what I need to do as a parent once we start this process.

i think you are doing a wonderful job, but you have to remember, you have 2 daughters at home, not just one and if one of your children are being hurt i know, you are goign to do whatever you can to protect that child, even if it is your own child who did the battering... she knew what she was doing, she understood that some consequences were in order, just not to this extent, you let her worry about these things, yes she is 12 but you need to understand if you help her alot, its going to repeat itself most probably... stop the bad habits before its happens again, you are in my prayers

Your daughter will probably be sent to a juvenile delinquicy home and be treated by pyschologists. As a parent, you should find out the root cause for her outbreaks and work with her to solve them. She is quite young and maybe just needs attention. Public defenders tend to suck, so I would suggest to use any means necessary to get a top notch lawyer. This record will live with your daughter for the rest of her life so do anything you can to find her the best results. Good luck and god bless!

Well first of all they are going to most likely try her as an adult. Then they will probably look at you and start into you. I mean it is your job to send your child to school and you can go to jail for not doing it. They may or may not let her come back home...but if they don't they most likjely will send her to a family member or put her in juvy.

Back inthe day i had a friend who broke in to a lot of cars and he went to jail for it. They put him on house arrest and he also went to juvy. He was in there for a while.

It really depends on if this is the childs first time. The judge is also going to look at the family situation. The whoel situation

Talk to a lawyer first
You will have to pay since they haven't appointed one but they may still. They most likely won't return her home do you really want her to be back, the way things are now you have to think of your other daughter, Get counseling for all of you

First thing you should do is talk to the court appointed attorney.

The next thing you should do, is after this is all over, figure out why your parenting is not working and fix it.
