Humans have eyes on the front of their body. Zebras have eyes on the sides of their heads to watch for predators.

What JennyAnn said above. Our eyes are in the front of our faces, and face front. This is the classic positioning of eyes for a predator -- but that's not why our eyes face front like this. Our ancestors lived in trees, and had the forward-facing eyes for superior 3-D and parallax vision. We inherited our eye position from our primate ancestors.
