I agree with you. After the 5 games series in Boston, the Yankees all but ripped the heart out of the Red Sox. They were never the same the rest of the season.

As far as the Cardinals are concerned, they almost pulled a 1964 Philadelphia Phillies on us. The nearly gave the division away to Houston. As it is they have rebounded and made quick work of the Padres. What a crazy season so far.

If the Tigers didnt make the wild card, they would get the bid for worst collapse. But, overall, it was the Red Sox. First place by end of July, they finished not only out of the playoffs, but third to Yankees and Blue Jays! Injuries suddenly plagued them. plus not being involved in picking up a new player by trade deadline

Neither of these two. It is the Detroit Tigers. They had the division lead by ten games in late July and gave that up in the last two months. They have to feel disappointed that they are only a wild card team.
