Yes to a degree. The ones you read about in books are really fake. The type of guys that always say the exact right thing at the exact right time and end up like kissing the girl in the rain after a big argument. That might happen but that is just an example of how girls expect so much from guys romantically. Those types of guys probably are like very rare and most guys aren't just that good to be honest. We are only human. On the flipside I believe that you could find guys that are attractive and interesting and exciting to be with. A lot of guys are pretty shallow but I think there are the odd few who are not and are still good guys, you just have to look for them. For instance, I have been told that I am a very good looking guy, I also have high morals and to tell the truth have not actually dated a girl yet because I waited through highschool until it would be time to actually start dating seriously. I am not a huge tough football player but was captain of my junior team. I want to respect the girl I end up dating as much as possible and I am really truly very romantic as well. I am getting into a good career and am pretty laid back and fun to be around. I haven't found a girl yet though because I am just waiting for the right one, and the size of my town and some other limiting factors (trying to find a christian girl cause i am a christian) have made it difficult. But overall, I think I would be a great choice and I havent found anyone yet. It just takes time and a good amount of looking to find the person that is right for you. There are a lot of factors and you are gonna have to meet a lot of people in order to find the right one. Just don't limit yourself with expectations and see what happens naturally as you get to know each person. Also I would like to say that I am not the kind of guy who loves to be super popular, I mean I like to have normal friends and am just as confident as anybody but think popularity is stupid. Try being that girl for once who doesn't just fall in love with the guy because they are popular or like some well known musician or something. Not to say that these people are always bad, but girls seem to think that only the famous people are great. Its just cause these people went out of their way to advertise themselves. You can find even better quality of guys if you don't limit yourself and get to know the people that seem more normal. You might surprise yourself with who you've run into once you truly get to know them.

LoL... i dunno.. the only mermaid movies i know are Splash, and a newer disney-ish one that just came out on dvd recently..."Aquamarine" is the title :)
