Why did the Republican Congressional leaders send Rep Foley to counseling if his emails were non-sexual?

As I answer the question, I am listening to a report on ABC news about Foley. I watch the White House communications director, Snow, try to dance around who knew what when. They knew the evidence is clearly unraveling that many of the Congressmen knew about the e-mails and were posed to sit back and let this pervert be re-elected again to keep the congressional seat Republican. This is clearly an ethical question and any congressional representative, Republican or Democrat who knew and said nothing should resign.

If they haven't revealed all the emails & IM's, they certainly should. This guy WAS a Congressman, and he should be publicly discraced for this sick act.

But I have no doubt that he'll recieve some "rehabilitation", and go on with his life. Why? Because he had power. And pewople with power never get into serious trouble. My dad and I were talking about this, and he said if he, me, or any other normal person did something like this, we would be in jail right now, being introduced to "Bubba & his play mates".

But Foley has the distinct honor of having "Rep." next to his name, and because of that, he'll get of relatively easy.

They did not have the sexual IM's only the the emails which were not as explicite. They should have seen the signs they know better, they just didnt want a Republican to bring shame on the party that is the reason, i hope many of them lose their jobs and they should be ashamed ashamed
