I mean bands that write in an orginal style, and that are not over polished processed *****- like Fall Out Boy, Panic!At the Disco, 50 cent, Pussycat Dolls (is that their name? they keep bugging me for dates... treat me like a piece of meat...)
It seems the only good bands are the ones that lasted for about (and over) ten years- Chilli Peppers, Pearl Jam, Snoop, Sonic Youth... You know- play with your sound and do the fuckaround to make new grooves... anybody else get that feeling?
Now vent...

well..chili peppers and pearl jam are still beltin out all the good ones...so dont give up on them just yet!!

the "over processed *****" --yeah they SUCK. songs have no meaning and they dont even have talent.
god..i love those "late 80s to 90s" bands..the best!
how come every one is forgetting about them!??
i about died when pearl jam played on storytellers. could they not get panic at the disco or something? i was totally surprised! but dont get me wrong..I LOVE PEARL JAM>>MY FAVE BAND EVER!!!

Yes, I have the same feeling.
Everything now just totally SUCKS!!
In Yahoo answers, there was a question asking "What is your favorite punk or alternative band?".
The answers ******' pissed me off. Alot of these answerers picked bands like.AFI, My Chemical Romance and Blink 182
WHAT!!!
Blink 182 is not punk or alternative.
Take the "boy bands" like N'Sync or the Backstreet Boys
and have their members each pretend to play an instrument, add some
piercings/fake tattoos and voila! You have these wannabe hardcore bands(AFI, My Chemical Romance and Blink 182, Simple plan, fallout boy etc...) with fans that think they're gettin' the real deal.
As long as the record/entertainment media industry can brainwash and keep Generation Y under their spell. They can mass produce crappy music and
keep making shitloads of money. Finding real talent takes
too much time and money.

well um coldplay and death cab for cutie are pretty good too. and everybody has different opinions. so some people might think it in a different way. i think that if you make music that makes you happy is just fine. though i can admit some of the stuff now is pretty vulgar. i know little kids who like the pussycat dolls and if you look at them they are disgusting (in my point of view)
