virtually nothing. almost everything is eaten. humans are on top of the food chain because they eat alot of other things but occasionally they are eaten.

Depends on whether you mean an animal that is dead or alive when eaten. There are a few animals which really do not have any predators when they are strong and healthy (not including human predators) - killer whales, tigers, lions, brown bears, komodo dragons, etc. But that doesn't mean that there won't be situations where these animals can be killed and eaten by other predators.
Illness and injury are generally the cause of this - and illness and injury are rather common in nature, so it could be said there really aren't any animals that *never* get preyed on by other animals.

The top of the food chain is just a simple way of looking at top level predators in an ecosystem. Really, no animal can eat and not be eaten.

There is no top to a food chain. This is just a
simplified way of thinking about a very complicated subject. Because of parasites, predators and decomposers there is actually an interlocking food web.
The so-called top carnivore (or omnivore) at the
top of a food chain is fed on by such things as lice,
ticks, fleas, mosquitoes, parasitic worms which
may then themselves be fed on by other organisms and start back up the food chain again
from a "lower" level.

There are lots of food chains - which are you asking about?
In the sea, the shark is top of the food chain but man eats shark - and very tasty he is too!!!!
In the jungle the lion is at the top - but hungry people have been known to eat lions. Possibly not too yummy.
Man eats everything but was eaten by canibals until the 1950's in indonesia.
As a canibal is human, I think we are it !!!!!!!

Generally the largest predators, with the inbuilt problem of being smaller when they are young. Then they can be predated by (at that time) larger carnivores (even of their own species). Common sense dictates that large predators leave equally large predators be (or even nearly as large or well armed - it's not worth the risk unless they are desperately hungry).

I suppose this would probably be some insects which are poisonous to eat, they can eat but if they are eaten themselves they are toxic

Everything will be eaten whether it has to die first or not. Every animal has a threat.

Nothing. It's a food chain, not a food pyramid.
