I work for a company with 200+ employees and I want to do a lunchtime screening of the movie "Supersize Me". I thought there were laws regarding this type of thing but maybe thats only if people are charged to attend. This would be free but I don't want to break any laws in providing this opportunity. I am in California if that makes any difference. Thank you!

Well there are technically now laws being broken since the movie is not first run and you are not holding a public screening of the film you should be fine

The only money that woul dbe involved is the possible rental of the screen of viewing the space for the audience. Showing a movie of an innocent affair is fine. The only way it would cost money is if you take a clip of that movie for other viewing purposes and show it on TV or play on the radio. THen you would have to consult the company of the product for permission. Other then that, you're good.

No money involved, its just a bunch of friends and coworkers getting together to watch a movie...no laws broken, you should be just fine.
