A fiction novel is a must, and it needs to have a happy ending. Also, I think it'd be best if it took place nowadays, but that doesn't really matter.

Perhaps parenting or love relationships, it's a very important subjects, how men are women are different from each other, look at this guy's material, it's just an idea, not to do the exact same, but maybe you should write more about women, the profiles of women, emotions, psychology of women, the heart of a woman is a great subject, there is a book by that name, I don't know what it's about but the title sounds great.

go to google and look up Christian Carter

Best wishes and many blessings

Try writing about things or subjects which the apt descriptors of your background & understanding include those of "broad & deep" and try to stick to a genre with which youe feel comfortable and well read. Also work to develop your own style insofar as to assure that you cannot be accused of plagarism or 'grafting.' You should not be fearful of novel approaches or innovative techniques that can potentially one day serve as your "signature style." Above all else, stay focused on the delivery rather than the "embellishments" that may otherwise serve to distract from the momentum of the story line. It is important that you seek and even importune for other's honest feedback just to be sure that your 'style' doesn't come off as a major contrivance or that it should be seen as "affected" or particularly naive. If you wish to be published, honing your craft is a must!

take ur notebook + pen...go find a quiet spot to sit and watch the passing foot traffic. Make up stories about passersby who strike ur imagination. hu r they, where do they come from, where r they going, why did THAT man end up wearing THAT hat or tie, why did THAT woman sit next to THAT young couple, how did THAT dog manage to end up with THAT owner...stuff like that
Make up simple stories in ur head...write down some of the better thoughts...Take the notebook back to the PC/typewriter and spend an hour or so each day using, expanding, or rejecting those bits of ideas. Some days nothing will result, some days...hu knows...a bestseller maybe? Discipline: sitting down, daily, to write even when u don't feel like it is wot most authors recommend. A pen and notepad by the bed is also a writer's device for ideas...when u wake up in the middle of the night with an amazing story...jot enuf down before going back to sleep...Most of the ideas turn out just plain nonsensical in the light of day, but occassionally some brilliant flash of insight turns out to be truely brilliant.
Good luck

You need to find an idea that means something to you. Books are about people and ideas and conflict. The best books give us information about ourselves as humans, help us to see other ways to behave, help us reach out to each other.

If you are writing fiction, you will need characters, a plot, conflict. Without conflict there is nothing to keep the reader interested and willing to take the journey with you. Pick a person for your viewpoint character. Then consider what that person wants, what that person hates or fears, what the person most wants to have happen or most wants to have not happen. For example, if your character is scared of heights, what would be the one thing that would get that person to go out on the edge of a cliff or a ledge?

Most plots come down to just a few, for example: 1) boy meets girl, 2)man against man, 3) man against nature 4)man against himself, 5) the quest, 6)what happens if this(whatever "this" is) goes on, 7) the mysterious intruder.

See where this takes you. The journey itself is always interesting.

Good luck.

How about a book about Constantine the Great?

He was a Roman Emperor in the early 300s.

Even though he was a pagan, if it was not for him, Christianity would probably never have caught on.

He legalized Christianity in 325 and then forced all his subjects to become Christian.

He did hate and persecute the Jews -- plus he murdered thousands of 'em -- but nobody is perfect, right?

If you can't figure out what to write about, just look at a picture and start writing about it. Just keep writing whatever you can think of, no matter how wacky it is. Eventually when you have the flow of it you'll start forming some ideas.

Also, try diversifying the type of literature you read (say, if you like American literature try world literature) and that's bound to give you some ideas.

Write about a day in the life of someone trying to find ideas for a book. It gives you a fairly broad canvas to work with, right?
It can be funny, sad, poignant, searching, whatever you want to make it. What happens as you ponder each idea? Who gives you inspiration? Take it from there...

If in doubt, keep the focus ridiculously tight. That'll keep it easily controllable for a novice, but need not make it uninteresting. Write about someone trapped in an elevator in an empty office building. Or about the last hour of a suicide bomber. Make it up.

You could write about somone trying to find their way through a life of hardship when they find someone they trust and love. They help each other over come many difficulties and such. I don't know, but it sounds like a good idea to write about to me.
