Your voice doesn't hurt. Your vocal chords do. Thats because you've "overused" them. They get a little torn from all the vibrations needed to make sounds.

you go ahead and sing!
If you are planning on making a career of it, however, yes, some talent would be preferable.
Probably your voice hurts because you are pushing a bit too hard. When you try to sing over the instruments, soundtrack or other voices, you are pushing too hard.
The sound person will adjust your mike to accommodate your voice
If you are singing the type of music that forces you to use your voice in a gravelly or raucous way ie punk, alternative etc, then perhaps these genres are not for you.
your voice shouldn't hurt. If you are breathing properly and using your diaphragm to push the air out - you will be able to project properly without straining your vocal chords

If your voice hurts from more than just a little tiredness, you're singing 'from the throat,' not breathig from the diaphragm. You don't need a nice voice to sing but if it's something you enjoy I would reccomend at least a few singing lessons to protect yourself. Left unchecked, poor singing technique can lead to nodules on the vocal chords.

Because you're either singing incorrectly OR singing too much. If you hurt, don't sing. (this coming from my voice professor, who's also a professional operatic singer) If you don't rest your voice, you can end up with nasty little things on your vocal chords called nodules (that often have to be removed surgically). Take care of your voice.

I sing songs from depraved myself. So i discover this thrilling. i can sing For solid and that i'm not That lady. earlier I had a great style of tension and discomfort (ooh, rhyme. xDD) collectively as making a music those songs. I broken myself exceptionally badly yet i would not supply up. It took a great style of prepare to get myself to be waiting to sing it good. heat up slightly, do not circulate good into it. i'm at the instant making a music songs that would oftentimes reason me tension. fantastically, after a great style of prepare, i did not sense the stress. You harm your voice once you: a million. tension your self to hit notes that are way too extreme for you 2. Sing excessively 3. tension your self to repeat a definite verse in a music with a not common line to sing in it 4. Slouch whilst making a music it rather is what i've got figured for now. good now i'm taking a smash from depraved. Your father or mom Angel, My Immortal, attempt, and not waiting to Make wonderful on the 2nd. better of success to you.

I'd say your overworking your vocals. I'm not a singing teacher but I did take lessons. Try only practicing for 30 minutes a day. If your vocals still hurts, gargle a little. But if tehy hurt and you don't necessicarily need to be singing, don't. It's not good for them.

a) hit an uncomfortable note
b) you don't practice enough
c) you are just not built to sing
and I do sing rather well

You're probably not breathing from your diaphram. If you try to push the sound from your throat to be heard, instead of using your diaphram it puts too much strain on your vocal cords and can cause you to lose your voice or go hoarse.

Its a message saying 'take a break. You'll be lucky to speak if you don't!' or something like that so I'd take a 15 minute break to rest your voice.
