Masturbation is okay and normal in fact it is good for the male reproductive system. It is very helpful in developing male sexuality. So let him know you are okay with the masturbation. Porn on the other hand is false and a lie. It gives the impression that things that are not normal are and it can become addictive for the man because the male is genetically wired to be sensitive and easily aroused by visual stimulation. I would say, " This is embarrassing because I did not mean to intrude into your privacy and your personal sex but I accidentally caught you watching porn the other night and I want you to know that I really do not approve. Porn demeans woman, presents lies, and gives the impression that certain behaviors are normal and in reality they are not and you should not expect those behaviors from your girl friends or future wife. Also it can be addictive. I am going to ask that you avoid the porn stuff. Masturbation is okay and plenty enjoyable without the pornography. " Good luck but guidance is needed.

Don't over react. Masturbation is normal, however getting caught could be a bit embarrasing. You should let this episode pass quietly, without mention. However, if it occurs again, then your son is being disrespectful in his conduct. You could take his computer away or incorporate the net nanny or cyber sitter software. The lure of pornography can be very hard to resist, some people actually become addicted. Monitor his time online and if possible check what sites he visits. Intervene if his actions warrant, but do it with the understanding and guidance of a parent. His curiousity is normal, but he may need some help to keep it in check! Good luck.

You do need to talk to him. Masturbation is normal, and not a big issue. You might not even discuss that part if it is too uncomfortable. However, you need to address the porn. As others have said, it can cause major problems for a young man. It will de-sensitise him to women and their needs. It will pervert his understanding of healthy sexuality. And it is VERY hard to resist. A filter is a good idea. Let him know you will be monitoring the computer. Check the browser history regularly.

Masturbation is not a problem. But you do need to find a way to talk to him about sexuality. If you're not comfortable talking about it, there are books aimed at teens which deal with the subject (I personnally believe such books should talk about relationships, feelings, porn, STDs... and not just about the act itself).

Because so many teens have access to the Internet, and because you can find just about anything on there (and not just what your husband watches), you really need to explain him that PORN IS NOT HOW PEOPLE USUALLY DO IT. Maybe he'll think it's obvious, but it's not obvious for everyone. Anyway, just buy him a book on that subject if you're not comfortable with that subject.

I would let it be, as long as its nothing illegal, (content wise, not based on who is veiwing it) What he is doing is healthy and there is nohing really wrong with it. If you have a prob with the type of porn or porn period just cofigure your firewall or parental spftware to block certian things out. He will get the picture and do it somewere else and hopefully by using his imagination.

You shouldnt really do anything its natural you were going to catch him eventually. Hes just keeping his penis healthy. Masturbation keeps the penis healthy and helps it grow. Its just porn anyway nothing wrong with that just keep cool about it.
