I often have the nightmare that all of my teeth have fallen out. At first I thought it was just me that dreamt this, but I've heard other friends talk aobut this dream as well. Does anyone know the psychological significance of this?

I sure wish I knew the true answer to this question...because it is a constant dream for me as well. In fact, just last night I dreamt that two of my teeth were very loose and I tried frantically to get to the dentist, but was too late and they fell out. To make matters worse, In the dream I did not have money for false teeth and was hysterical.

I once heard on Montel when psychic Sylvia Browne was on that it is a sign that you should shut up once in a while, but I beg to differ. Just ask my husband (who is certainly not hiding from me as we speak), he will tell you that I am a joy and never speak when I shouldn't or talk too much ;)

The meaning of dreaming of teeth-teeth help you feel confident about meeting people. They also enable you to take what you need from the world,so being toothless would mean you feel ineffective.Carl Jung said that dreaming a tooth is being pulled out might refer to pregnancy and birth. But it could also link with words. The tooth dream could also suggest something in you that is painful.Teeth falling out is one of the most common dreams. The falling teeth link with loss appearance, your feelings about ageing, and the apprehension it arouses in you.Losing only 1 or 2 teeth reminds us of our youth when our first teeth fell out. What had been an intimate part of us is now gone.Teeth loss is often used to warn us,or express loss-frequently of some one close to you.I hope I was of some help to you.Take care.

I have been told that dreams of losing your teeth mean that you're worried about money. This pattern holds true in my life. It is apparently a very common dream. But, if you're dreaming that your teeth are already gone, rather than about the process of losing them, it might be about something else, possibly something to do with your identity or self-esteem.

"One theory is that dreams about your teeth reflect your anxiety about your appearance and how others perceive you. Sadly, we live in a world where good looks are valued highly and your teeth play an important role in conveying that image. Teeth are used in the game of flirtations, whether it be a dazzling and gleaming smile or affectionate necking. These dreams may stem from a fear of your sexual impotence or the consequences of getting old. Teeth are an important feature of our attractiveness and presentation to others. Everybody worries about how they appear to others. Caring about our appearance is natural and healthy.

Another rationalization for these falling teeth dream may be rooted in your fear of being embarrassed or making a fool of yourself in some specific situation. These dreams are an over-exaggeration of your worries and anxiety.

Teeth are used to bite, tear, chew and gnaw. In this regard, teeth represent power. And the loss of teeth in your dream may be from a sense of powerlessness. Are you lacking power in some current situation? Perhaps you are having difficulties expressing yourself or getting your point across. You feel frustrated when your voice is not being heard. You may be experiencing feelings of inferiority and a lack of self-confidence in some situation or relationship in your life. This dream is an indication that you need to be more assertive and believe in the value of your own opinion.

In the latest research, it has been shown that women in menopause have frequent dreams about teeth. This may be related to getting older and/or feeling unattractive and less feminine.

Traditionally, it was thought that dreaming that you did not have teeth, represent malnutrition which may be applicable to some dreamers."

yes... this is a common dream. The dream indicates your subconscious anxieties about growing older and less attractive. I have had dreams like this on and off and I must say, yeah - they were initiated by subconsious fears of getting older, less attractive and by the presence of sexual rivals!
