Books with a "sing-song" rhythm are great, all children seem to love them. Goodnight Moon, Everywhere Babies (still a favorite in our house and she's 2 1/2), the Sesame Street books (level 1). Have fun!

Baby loves to hear Mummy's voice ,you could read the phone book and baby'd be happy.
Choose something you loved yourself as a child and gives you good memories.
Nursery rhymes are easy to read and have a lovely rhythm baby may find soothing
Happy reading, you are looking after your baby really well!

Anything and everything. The dictionary, encyclopedias thesauraus...as stated above-books with bright colors and pictures. They learn so fast, and they can comprehend before they can speak. Bless you for reading to yours!
Most bookstores, by the way, will have books arranged by age appropriate-ness.

Below about 6 months - absolutely anything. It is the time you spend with them, and the closeness that is important. I used to read the daily paper to mine - honest!!
