i think it's a little of both. i could "choose" to be straight just as well. if you live in a country where you don't see it or hear about it, you can easily marry and have kids never knowing how you feel. for me, i choose to be "happy" :) girls are gorgeous, it's simple for me. guys just don't do it for me, so i choose to be with women. and to the ones that say "no it's not a choice, why would we choose to be this way and be treated like dirt?" well i'd rather CHOOSE to be myself (even if society hates me for it) than pretend i'm straight, and be w/ some guy and feel miserable :)))

I don't think it's a choice. I think it's a combination of nature and nurture: genetic and early environmental factors (before say age 3) could both determine one's sexuality. In my opinion, people who think it is a choice simply cannot look at things from the point of view of others. If it is a choice then why would so many people choose to be disapproved by society and discriminated against?

Sexuality is encoded into an unborn foetus' chromosonal imprint at around 6 months. Homosexuality is as natural as being born with blue eyes.

Sexuality is not determined by experience, environment or conditioning. Being gay is my 'normal'.

You are a dork indeed... much better than being a jack*ss. We're born with it. Much like we're born with skin, eye and hair color. We don't choose those, right?

What I dont understand is that if its something society approves of then you were born with it(being gay, being obese) and it should be celebrated as part of diversity but if it is something society doesnt approve of(being a mass murderer, being a serial rapist, being a gambler addict) then it is something made by choice and the person gets locked up. How odd?

Also if we were born with it, then you would see the same percentage of gay animals, just like every now and then you get one of those rare albino people and you also get rare albino animals every now and then

I would have to say they are born with the sexual attraction for the same sex. It don't believe anyone really has any control over their sexual orientation. I like blonde women with large breasts and hips, and find it hard to be arroused around a female that I am not attracted to.

It does not have to be black and white like that. Its possible they are born that way or can become that way during their life.

then don't. you are not born with that urge. it's probably just glands and the weird things that run through some people's minds. would you ask the same thing to a pedophile and try to be one?
