i am going to the dermantoligist on friday and i am getting accutane for my HORRIBLE acne. i have my period and now you need to get tested for stuff on the 5th day of your period (pregnancy, liver, etc.). im 12 so obviously im not going to get pregnant but i will get tested for my liver but is it ok to lie so that i dont have to come on the fifth day of my period because it would be hard to plan because i am irregular still. whoever uses accutane, tell me everything, everything, everything about it.

Accutane is a powerful drug and the dermatologist is trying to ensure that you're safe using it. Don't make it a practice to lie to your doctors; you never know when something that seems like a small issue to you could be medically significant. Let her know that your period is irregular and that you're not sexually active so there's no chance of pregnancy and see what she says.

Hey, really consider not using Accutane, the doctor tried to put me on it, and instead put me on the birth control Ortho TriCyclen. The birth controil itself cleared my acne up and mine was bad. Try going on the birth control first. The high amounts of Vitamin A that Accutane is made up of can eat away at your liver. Thats why when women are going to be put on Accutane, they are also put on birth control, because if by some chance you did get pregnant (even a 14, 13, 12, 11, yr old) the Accutane would cause major birth defects to the child and they dont want to have to be responsible for that. if you want medical help i dont believe lying to them is the best way to get their help. it could just make it worse for you. lets use common sense shall we?
