thats because both of them decided to quit to show to pursue other opportunities in movies, but instead of cancelling it there, the producers and network decided to do another season, even though the appeal was pretty much gone

The guy that played Eric wanted to pursue a movie career. He came back for the season finale.

kelso was in the last show and eric showed up at the end!i guess fans were lucky they did that...they did leave the show!

pretty much the way it went with "happy daze" except the leads there checked out YEARS before that show ended. that just sucked.

but he did he missed his plane but still he made it to his home it was New Years going into 1980 and he talks to Donna in his yard he was going home and she was going to college and they kissed.
