This is simple. Replace x with -2. 5(-2)2 -3(-2) +1
5(4)+6+1= 20+6+1=27

given f(x)=5x^2-3x+1
f(-2)=5(-2)^2-3(-2)+1
=5(4)+6+1
=20+6+1
=27

f(-2) simply means that wherever you see an x in the equation, replace it with -2.

f(-2) = 5(-2)^2 - 3(-2) + 1

The rest is just BEDMAS and calculator work!
