It's safe, *IF* you know what you're doing - and that's a big 'if.' The standard method of sterilization is an autoclave; and yes you can get used ones off the secondary market, but they're as balky and obnoxious as an old Ford to keep running right. Boiling instruments for about 15-20 minutes should be sufficient, assuming they can stand that long in hot water. Do *not* rely on disinfectant solutions, mostly because they don't always get into tiny crevices. If you can find one, an 'ultrasonic' cleaning bath (really just a high frequency vibrating basin) is also a good idea.

But in all honesty, you're better off going to a professional and letting them do it. It's faster and probably cheaper. And, on a practical note, the most commonly tattooed areas (chest and shoulders) can't effectively be done by yourself. Even if you're flexible enough to do your own shoulder, the motions involved will cause distortions in the final product you probably won't like. And those mistakes are *permament*!

It is not safe to give yourself a tatoo. Tatoo is somehow made of inc. There are pores on your skin that you can't see unless you use a microscope. So when that inc(tatoo) goes on your body it will go into your pores and cause your blood to clog. And that is not good at all.
