if it's something minor like that, you can always unhook your battery and hook it back up. Should make the light go off...however, if it's something more, then the light will come back on and I'd recommend getting a scan to see what other problems are there...

Sounds like the gas cap didn't get tightened and it threw a code. Get it scanned and reset it if that is the problem. It won't go away on it's own.

Disconnect you neg battery cable from your battery.Wait for afew minutes,about 5 minutes,and reconnect battery cable.The light will be out.What you just did was you reset you on board computer.

you need to go to your local dealer and have them reset the light for you. there is no way to do it without tech 2 or compatible scan tool

hope you didn`t screw up the fuel level sensor.mabe its just a evap code stored and nothing else.
