Just substitute the -2 for the x's:

5(-2)(-2) - 3(-2) + 1

Now multiply and watch out for the negative signs. Your answer will be positive when you multiply two negatives.

f(-2)= -13 if you mean f(x)=(5)*(x)*(2)-(3)*(x)+1

or

f(-2) = 27 if you mean f(x) = (5)*(x raised to the 2nd power)-3(x)+1

or

f(-2) = 15 if you mean f(x)= (5)*(2) – 3x + 1
