1. We all know the $ 60 million dollar campaign to catalogue Clinton's supposed crimes which revealed nothing but a public lie about sexual conduct between consenting adults, which was not even criminal, but only embarrassing.
2. Money buys privledge. Sorry, it's a simple fact. Those with money get the best lawyers. Look at OJ. Look at Limbaugh. Do you honestly think either of these people would still be walking the streets if they were poor? It's not right, but it's the truth.

As for Republicans taking out the "trash", we'll see how much trash gets taken out after the midterm elections.
There is Hastert's shady land deal. Bill Frist's insider trading. Tom DeLay's money laundering. The list goes on and on. Every one of them had their butts covered by the rest of their Republican colleagues.
When Joel Hefley, a conservative Republican from Colorado, had the testicular fortitude to actually do an ethics investigation of Tom DeLay -- he was removed.
When Henry Hyde (R-Illinois) was a mere state representative back home in Illinois, being a devout Catholic husband and father of four sons, didn't hamper his five (or seven) year affair with a married woman with three kids, an affair that continued even after the woman's husband, Fred Snodgrass, found out about it and demanded that Hyde leave his wife alone.
John Peterson (R-Pennsylvania): has been accused of sexual harassment and hostile-work-environment claims by six women.
Don Sherwood (R-PA) had a five year adulterous affair which only ended when his mistress sued him for physical abuse and attempted murder in 2004.
Ken Calvert (R-California) was caught by police in 1993 receiving oral sex from a prostitute. His ex-wife also sued him for failure to pay alimony.
Republican Tennessee State Representative, Keith Westmoreland was arrested on seven felony counts of lewd and lascivious exhibition to girls under the age of 16 (i.e. exposing himself to children).
I could go on, but I'm sure you get the picture. There are few, if any, honest upstanding politicians anymore.
As far as Foley goes, he was caught by a fellow Republican, Rodney Alexander, because one of the pages worked for Rep. Alexander and turned Foley in. So, what did the Republicans do about it? Nothing. For over a year. In all that time, while other kids could have been exposed, while they knew of several instances of sexual advances toward underage boys -- they did nothing.
Now, they feign outrage. Why weren't they outraged when they first found out about it? They're not outraged because young boys were jeopardized. They're outraged now because their majority is jeopardized.

Isn't it amazing that the Democrats say they THINK the Republicans knew about Foley's conduct and hid it, If the Republicans knew so did the Democrats this is just another 'smear a Republican weeks before an election tactic'. The Dems do this every 2 yrs without fail, then when the focus is on them they all cry lets end the politics of personal attack. Non of those people were run out of office by republicans. They were outed by the other guys. If the press and dems had not got ahold of Foley he would still be buggering your kids. my mistake he still is buggering your kids, he was just forced to quit going into the office. No fines yet.
