I am 15 years old and my period is very irregular. My last periods were in December, January, and February of this year. I started my period last year in February though and didnt get it till this past December. It's been almost 8 months without a period. Could something be wrong? or is it normal? It could be something with weight but I am 5'4 and weigh around 110 so I don' know if my weight would be an issue with it.

Could a low dose of birth control possible regulate this problem?
And should i see a Gyno?

Thanks for the help! :)

I started my periods when I was 8 years old and started using birth control pills at the age of 13 as I was in a lot of pain.

BCP are used to regulate menstrual cycles all the time, just talk to you doctor. If your doctor thinkis there may be another reason for your periods be so wide spread he /she may very well make an appt for you with a gyno, it's something that you should sort out soon, just incase you have some fibroids or a blockage in your fallopian tubes.

Your periods will only stop if you are way under weight (that happened to me once), as for being overweight (which I don't think you are) I'm not really sure.

I also had this problem at that age. When you first start your periods they are irregular. It took the birth control to get me to be regular. I'd check with a gyno tho.

Your problems with your period could be anything, there are many different things that could cause problems like that, however; your question about going to see a Gyno. yes definitely go. Your doctor will be able to test for any possible problems and will be able to properly treat anything that comes up.

In the beginning it is a little irregular. If it continues and doesn't come on a regular basis, ask your gyno.

Yes you should see a GYN. A low dose birth control pill worked for my daughter. It may work for you but check with a GYN for certain.
