Why...fact of life. Taste and smell are intimately related.
If not cold related, then try to open up nose with decongestant sprays, blow your nose, etc.See a doc if this is a usual situation for you.Not tasting food is the worst!

I believe the sense of smell provides about 80-90% of the information you get when "tasting" stuff. So, do whatever you can to clear your nose. That's about it.

Its ok! My cousin she bumped her nostril and cant scent back and you in easy terms have a chilly.
