John Travolta had done Saturday Night Fever the year before, so he was the MOST popular person on the planet at the time Grease came out, which is why so many peeps went to see it..
Jeff Conaway, who played Kenikki in movie, was most popular for playing Danny, the lead in the broadway production of Grease. He met and married Olivia's sister while making the film.
Didi Conn, who played Frenchie, had just done the award winning movie "You Light Up My Life" and most of the cast were either veteran stage actors or movie actors...
