Can I use a Cingular wireless phone with Nextel?

I already have a sim card with a phone for nextel. if i buy a phone from cingular (example, the samsung d407) can i insert my nextel SIM card in and use it?

No, Nextel uses iden technilogy where Cingular is GSM.
