Did you try the RESTORE disk? Your computer may have provided that, or a Windows Operating System disk. If you can BOOT from that, you might be OK. If you have to save stuff from your hard drive, you would want to MOVE that drive into another computer FIRST. Then make a CD of your precious data. But if you do not need any of your old data, then pick FORMAT during the reinstallation process.

just don't load crap , that's the best way to start , use classic logon style rather then modern ,n ur system is really corrupted
download hijackthis , scan , n check whatever is not system's n click clear ,do this in safe mode , replace windows files that are lost (for that go through repair commands ) n for god's sake use a antivirus n don't touch system files

The best and surest way would be to backup important data onto a CD-R or DVD-R and then format the hard disk. After formatting, re-install Windows XP fresh and restart the computer

you'll need Windows XP Installation CD

load it to your CD-ROM

restart and boot from CD ...

it will prompt you for Windows XP Setup .. go on and when you get to choose installing a fresh copy of windows or repairing your system choose repair and follow the steps ... one by one ..

Good Luck
