Did you try the RESTORE disk? Your computer may have provided that, or a Windows Operating System disk. If you can BOOT from that, you might be OK. If you have to save stuff from your hard drive, you would want to MOVE that drive into another computer FIRST. Then make a CD of your precious data. But if you do not need any of your old data, then pick FORMAT during the reinstallation process.

just don't load crap , that's the best way to start , use classic logon style rather then modern ,n ur system is really corrupted
download hijackthis , scan , n check whatever is not system's n click clear ,do this in safe mode , replace windows files that are lost (for that go through repair commands ) n for god's sake use a antivirus n don't touch system files

The best and surest way would be to backup important data onto a CD-R or DVD-R and then format the hard disk. After formatting, re-install Windows XP fresh and restart the computer

Have you tired system restore from the menu. I am suprised though that you are able to come on line.
However press start:programs:accessories:system tools: system restore

you'll need Windows XP Installation CD
load it to your CD-ROM
restart and boot from CD ...
it will prompt you for Windows XP Setup .. go on and when you get to choose installing a fresh copy of windows or repairing your system choose repair and follow the steps ... one by one ..

hi... if your os is corrupted it may be some virus action try to boot the system in the safe mode and check whether any virus is
present . or you should format the system entierly and reinstall
the os again no other go....

it woulda helped to have a little more info...maybe u should insert the windows disc....try to do a repair........or maybe u just need to run a spyware and virus scan.....if u cant access them from web because pc is messed up...download them onto a disc from another pc..then install into pc that is messed up..run both scans

try this,works for me. hit power button to turn off. hit power again, as soon as screen blinks hit f8. scroll up or down to last known good configuration, hit enter,then enter again. your comp will now reboot.
