That was something I never expected to happen in Amish country; they're usually peaceful and modest people. What do you think was the killer's motive? I hope that Congress enforces or makes stricter gun laws so this doesn't happen again.

I thank something happened to that man years ago with girls that was Amish or that lived in that area. You never know what people are going to do anymore it's scary if you ask me. Because I have 3 girls and they are all in school. I would like to see congress make stricter gun laws to. Then maybe some of the shootings will stop.

I know how you feel. I felt the same way. There was a peeping tom at a house I stayed at once. I called the police, while my friend's wife got dressed. When the police got there, he said, "The next time the guy comes, SHOOT him! There's no other way to do it. He thinks he can get away with do anything he wants. We can't get here before he can escape. You and your husband have to shoot him if he comes back." The next night the peeping tom came back, and her husband shot him with a shot gun.
Tighter gun controls would allow the thief, the robber, the murderrer to do anything they want, anytime they want. Tighter gun controls would take the guns out of the inocent man's hands and the bandits would be the only ones left with guns.
Forgiveness of certain things would stop most wild random shootings like what happened at the Colorado School. If we could only forgive.
One psychologist said it when he said,"90% of all mental illnesses come from non-forgiveness." Anotherr lady pastor saved MY LIFE once, by giving the sermon, "DO WHAT'S RIGHT! AND LET THE EMOTION FOLLOW LATER!! THE EMOTION IS NEVER THERE AT THE FIRST! IT ALWAYS comes LATER!! ALWAYS DO THE RIGHT THING FIRST! AND LET THE EMOTION FOLLOW LATER!!"
Couldn't we all just forgive, and show some kind of forebearance and longsufferring, until the emotion follows?

I could not believe it when I read that. It is so sad, and those poor kids could not have even known what was going on. It is sad what the world is coming to, and it scares me to death. We were thinking about moving to Colorado, but after last weeks shooting decided that we would wait until the kids get out of school, but hell, it is happening all over the country. I used to live out by the Amish here, and they would never hurt anyone.. I don't understand what could have been going through that mans mind..

Yes, there is a pattern. It occurs when the Republicans are getting bad pblicity

The pedophile problem of Foley was beginning to get too much news coverage. Had it continued, there was a possibility of the whole Franklin cover-up rearing its ugly head again, and revealing that most of the senior politicians are pedophiles, as a result of their initiation into the New World Order through organisations like the Skull and Bones.
So there was a need for something else to hit the headlines.
Therefore an MK-ULTRA mind-control victim, like the one who shot John Lennon, was wheeled out, did his job, and was disposed of so that no questions could be asked.
So the main cause is the CIA, the same people who created and performed 9/11.

Most gun crimes are committed with illegally owned weapons anyway. What good would stronger gun laws do? Make it harder for honest law abiding people to obtain weapons with which to potect themselves from the criminals who ignore the laws to begin with?

The problem is societal. Another law won't help anything.

Yes I read about that too. I think there are way too many free guns traded today. Too many people have one, I think a criminal search should be done, for each person registering a gun.Criminals shouldn't(no level of criminal) be allowed one.
It is truly sad when innocent people have to die in such a manner. God Bless the peaceful people.

They don't really know his complete motive yet. They said that he left a note for his wife, mentioning it was some kind of revenge from something years back. They don't know what event made him want to take revenge this badly.

I see that you are the quintessential dumb blond.

More gun control?

In 1950, there was virtually NO gun control. In 1950, there were NO school shootings.

What we need is criminal control. MORE guns available to law-abiding citizens will be part of that effort.
