I have my email program automatically sort my emails into folders. All the rest stays in the inbox where I can manually sort thru them. Any that I don't recognize the sender, I send to my junk folder, where it will be automatically deleted in a week.
It really helps when you give us an idea what type of setup you are using. What is your operating system? What email program are you using?
I use both WinXP and Ubuntu Linux operating systems. I use Mozilla's Thunderbird as my email program on both systems. I set both to hold my mail at the ISP for 24 hours, so I can receive all my mail at both computers. Recommend you research Thunderbird as a possible substitute.
I have a special setup where all my email goes to POBOX.COM first, before going to my ISP and then on to me. POBOX.COM blocks most of the spam. I can easily check with them to see if they have blocked something they should not have and make the necessary correction. The annual fee is minimal.

I think that somewhere it will say something like preferances. And u have to go there and say that u only want e-mails from like the people in ur address book...then that should solve it. If not then ur e-mail problly has a trouble shooting or FAQs place it might answer ur question there. If not i suggest calling ur provider and telling them about the problom.
Hope that helps!

What the others said. There should be an option available to block spam, or a place where you can make rules to not allow certain addresses or subjects to get through your box.
Good luck!

You have a virus. If you do not have anti-virus software, then I highly recommend that a professional remove your infections, and set up security for your computer. Major computer retail chains have services and training to help you clean up your computer and keep it clean.
Otherwise, here is a good, free anti-virus link. Select the first on the list, "AVG Anti-Virus Professional Edition 7.5".

When you get those emails again, go to spam blocker, or pop-up blocker and follow the directions. I dont think you will have them again.
