Hi >
I am sure that I am not the only person to carefully read through applications, CV's etc, but I know of some that just shred them, having already given the position to a mate in the local golf club, or wherever.
Obviously a tad unfair, so I once took great delight in employing a most promising girl, over the boss's sister-in law.
A better person for the role, so na-na-de-na-na.
So it is not always who you know, or get to know, and to heck with bullsh*t. I don't like it.
As for reply times - I would expect you to hear within 2-3 days. If they want you. Or you are on the "back burner".
Anyway : what can you offer in the line of Sales in a Power Production Co ? Publicity & all that side of things.
Need a new bod, as she went back to Greece to marry.
Fair enough. Vacancy circa £25K in Chiswick.
There you go ...
Ask for Bob.

Some companies hold them for a year, others 3 to 6 months. Depends upon the company. I work for a small company, so after 3 months, we shred anything with personal info on it.

Most of the cvs that come in end up as coffee cup mats at our place. Out of order, I know, but unfortunately Im not in charge of that side of things.

For the most part they will archive them in HR file room(Human Resources)
and if they are not hiring most law firms will send you a letter letting you know that there are no available openings

I never heard anything on most of mine. If they want you, they call. If they don't they throw them away after 1 year, or maybe before. You can do a follow up call to indicate interest, but that usually only filled my mailbox with rejection letters.

At our business they get assessed immediately, if they look like they're any good they get a thank you response and held on file. If they are total zeroes we make paper aeroplanes out of them, set fire to them and throw them at each other.
