I'm writing a script based on a book by Herman Hesse called "Demian", if you have already read this book, it's very popular, can you give me your input about the relationship between Emil Sinclair and Demian? Just for research purposes...some people say there's definitely some homosexual tinges in there, other people don't. What do you think? Pls, be intelligent. I'm tired of receiving stupid answers.

You are doing a report about a book in which you cannot spell the title? It's DAMIEN. If you want intelligent answers, ask intelligently.

Here is what I heard: 1) that the relationship between Emil and Demian was based on what Hesse heard about the relationships between soldiers in the trenches in WWI, and 2) that the relationship was based on the Jungian idea of the "soul" and the "shadow" and therefore merely a plot device to to contrast character traits.

Could it be that he meant both? The idea of a romantic link between the two of them certainly heightens the tension in the novel for me. But I read it a few years ago and I don't remember enough to discuss it.

Why don't you look at some of the criticism and biography websites about Hesse? It might be interesting to see what the arguments are.

Stupid is as stupid does.

You'd think that if you wanted not to be noticed that you'd at least have the decency to not post the EXACT same question you did when you were impersonating "KATHY GRIFIN!"

Gays will see homosexualality in everthing while heteros will not.
It has to do with being obsessed with certain social views.
