Press releases are free, what do you want one for?? A press release is just information and you can send them to the paper, directed to the section in which you would most likely find it. If its about a band, send to entertainment, etc. You should not pay for it or pay anyone to write it. its easy!

You would need more than that!
You can write it for free - but the knowledge acquired for making a release work ie. get results is founded in experience. Part of making it work is knowing who to send it to...why not have a go yourself
just include who, what, where and when and include a contact number and email - can I have £50 now?

A lot depends on the amount of work one needs to do. I've done releases, not in the UK, but in the US, for $25, others for $200, who knows. Lots of variables here!

I will help you write one for free, if you want? I have more than 15+years experience in the media, and would be happy to advise and help you. I know what tends to work, having been on both sides (in PR and working for a newspaper). Let me know if you want help, and best of luck.

. . . "press release" - that's a new name for it - for £50 you should get a few "extras" (try the phone-booth fliers) . . .
