uh what are twinks in world of warcraft

They are characters in which a wealthy player has buffed up to Uber status. many times for Pvp at lvl 20 or so(or whatever the cap is now, its been awhile since i played) Doing his research he can find the best stuff and the best enchants for his level, thus Owning any non-twink to come his way..
Thats just a typical thing people do for pvp.. people can also twink to buff their stats for pvm, its just not as effective as the items would become less and less useful as you level up.. What i would always do is give my new toons 25 gold or so to help them buy gear from time to time so their gear is always consistant with their level.. hope this helped

A twink is basically a 2nd (or 3rd, 4th, etc.) character that's been "tricked out" with the best gear for the level. The best examples are probably 19th or 29th level, heavily into PvP, wearing pretty much all blue gear, with enchants that you'd expect to find on a level 60 character.
In essence, a twink is an alt for rich characters to get an unfair advantage over players who either don't have those type of resources, or don't want to bend the spirit of the game to that level.
