I put change in this parking meter today because i saw the meter maid coming. I popped in a quarter to give whoever it was an additional 30 minutes of time.
The best thing that ever happened to me was I once had filled my tank with gas. I had no cash on me, just my bank card, so II was going to charge it. When i went to go pay for the gas, their machine was down. Now i was in a true dilemma. I asked the cashier would she mind if i ran home and grabbed my checkbook, as i didnt have cash like i said. Well the lady said fine, i left my credit card and id with her to prove that i would come back. When i was almost to my car, there was a guy who came running up to me to hand me my id and card back. I was confused. he told me that he had been in that situation before and he paid for my gas. I told him thank you very much and did he want me to write him a check- he told me no- to just go ahead and do it for someone else- he also said he liked my bumper sticker (it said proud to be a democrat) and would be glad to help out a fellow member...lol.
I passed it on a few months later to a woman who was short money at the grocery store.

My life is filled with kindness....every day I try to be the best I can to people, and I get it back, too. Have you ever noticed how surprised people look when you greet them with a smile? I'm talking about strangers in a store, on the sidewalk, that sort of thing....

I try to do something every day, even if it is as simple as letting a car go in front of you in traffic. I believe that all the good things we do will come back to us...and the smallest things we do can really make someone else's day :)

I've helped people out with Gold Rush answers this weekend and even today, when I posted a comment on the comment page. Some helped me out too. It worked both ways. Via email, Ichat or YM, I helped them out big time and get thanks back.

well, i helped a semi-mentally challenged kid score a couple touchdowns in flag football at school after he was getting angry.
