RAM had been enjoying a relatively steady price decrease. But now, RAM is getting more expensive again. Why is this?

What I have heard is that with the new Core 2 Duos coming out, there has been a rush of people buying the high end RAM to go with them, which has driven prices up. It is supposed to come back down by the beginning of next year.

It goes in cycles over time. They are profiteering.

Even though it is the same amount (512, 1 gig, etc), the speed on them varies also. ; )
