Definately something used. My dad bought me a new car for my 16th birthday and I won't even mention how many times I wrecked it.

i would recomend most blazers, broncos, or early 90's ford pickups, also chevy c10's are good trucks. most of them depending on where you live are gonna have some rust if they're early 90s and late 80s. but they're great trucks. if you go with a ford pickup try for early 90s one with a 460, tons of power great fun. For cars i would go with a cavalier they're really reliable and cheap to fix. also i've seen hondas go forever, a civic or a prelude would be pretty good. if you want something new with lots of technology stuff go with one of the new scions they have some good options, and i haven't seen one with any problems. or if you want to spend major money a 2007 escalade, or a lamborghini would work. also with any of the top listed suvs and trucks they're are tons of after market parts to make them more technalogical than any new suvs and trucks..and most of the things for them are pretty reasonable in price.

If your Talking brand new, and want to stay Domestic. Any mid sized GM , Ford , Chrysler product. Something with a 4 Cylinder. I'd stay away from an SUV. I'm Thinking Economics but if you got Deep pockets have at er.

I'd go for something reliable, economic and safe. Try a Camry or a Honda. Go to consumerreports.org and get their opinion.
