Empress. An Empress would either have ascended to the throne or married to the Emperor (who has ascended the throne. A Princess would be royal family not on or married to a prince not on the throne.

An empress is either the wife of the ruling emperor or else the reigning head of the country. A princess is the daughter of a monarch or is married to a prince, as someone pointed out earlier.

So the empress is higher than the princess.

I would think that an empress would be. Empress sounds like a female emporer to me where a princess is just part of the royal family.

An empress is ruler of an entire empire. A princess is merely the daughter of the king and queen; she's not in charge of anything.

Definitely Empress, it's like Queen, but over a whole empire instead of just one kingdom.

An Empress...coz shes a wife of emperor...princess is a wife of a prince or she is the emperor's or empresses daughter...hence her rung is lower.
