I must correct you here. Fire et al actually first made the discovery back in 1997 doing some work on a nematode. RNAi basically a method of post transcriptional gene regulation tht has shown huge potential for treating various infections and diseases. I have wrotten several reports and presentations on the subject, and i think it is about time the Fire and Mello recieved the Nobel Prize for Medicine.
