It really depends. Are you being paid for building those websites. Then yes it is illegal. What you will then have to do is contact the artist and ask his permission. Some music of Cd's is considered public knowledge and does not require copy write protection like most older classic music.

If it is copyrighted, then you will need to get permission from the copyright owners - and that will mean paying. If you use it without permission you are breaking the law, and when you get caught you will be facing a serious lawsuit. It surely isn't worth the risk.
