This is a controversial question in Japan. Even though I have a opinion, I want to hear your opinion from all over the world. (I don't say yes to murders. I just want to hear your opinion. )
Please tell me your opinion. Thank you.

Seems to me that one of the basic tenets of most religions and most philosophical systems is to not do to others what you wouldn't want done to yourself. Since most of us want to live and wouldn't appreciate being killed, it follows that killing others is wrong. It's interesting to watch all the ways people try to rationalize this. Death means a much different thing society to society, however. In societies where death is seen as a portal to a better existence, a taboo against showing someone that door might not be so strong.

The basis of morality is treating others as one would like to be
treated. If I am free to kill people, then the same freedom applies
to others and they can kill me. On a larger scale, the rule against
killing is what holds a civilization together. No society could survive without it.

I searched on google and couldn't find anything idicating that the killing or not killing of people is the subject of any controversy in Japan so I do not understand your question.

If killing is OK then who will volunteer to be first?

Read up on social contract philosophy:

Thomas Hobbes, John Locke, and Jean-Jacques Rousseau.

The theory goes that, by nature, we humans enter into a social contract for the good of all. Killing other people at will puts you at risk of being killed yourself. So, generally, people refrain.

Codes of ethics and morality derive from this unspoken social contract.

Each person is endowned with the inalieable right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Allow murder to happen with impunity is in direct contradiction to these rights.

Constitiutional rights aside, it's just plain wrong.

First of all God says in His word that we should not murder. In my opinion we shouldn't kill each other because it's just plain wrong and that we should value each others lives. But not only that but it will put you in the slammer.

Well, if it was legal to kill people, can we start with you or your family?
Once you say it's OK to kill, where do you draw the line?
That is why there is such a debate over the death penalty.

I wonder how many folks here would just roll over and die if someone was trying to take their life. Probably more than would admit it. Pity.
