Each GM product line is attempting to "brand" itself by having their car lines resemble the models within that line. When you see any Pontiac you should instantly recognize it as a Pontiac, same goes with the rest of the GM cars. The problem with this is that nearly everything in the lineup looks the same. I prefer the classic GM cars from 1971-1976, when a Buick didn't look like a Pontiac or Olds, etc. The designers really need to come up with some new models that are appealing.

The Chevy designers need a fire lit under them. The Cobalt is just a revamped Cavalier.

I haven't seen the new Impala so I can't speculate on that...

welll the reason is simple... all the GM car companies are making the exact same car/truck/SUV but giving them different names and giving them different options.
