I want to know if I try and unlock the phone, will there be any problems with Cingular? I just ordered this phone because I prefer smartphones and I am on a budget. Free = Best. Anyways, I am curious if I decide to unlock the phone, would it still work fine on the Cingular network? Or the follow up question would be: Is there any benifit to unlock the phone, or does it matter?

I also have a second question. Currently I am using Sprint and I absoultly hate Sprint because there is no signal at my university, which is in the middle of a city. So currently I am using a Hitachi G 1000 and I was wondering if anyone has an opinion between the G 1000 and the Nokia 6682. I would have to say the 6682 is a superior phone, but could anyone give their experience or knowledge between the two?

Thanks for any information!!!

Unlocking the phone won't cause any problems with cingular. It just makes it so you can use it on any network.

Usually someone unlocks their phone to use it with other networks, example.. You have Sprint, so if the sim card from that would fit the Cingular phone, it'd work in the Cingular phone if it's unlocked, yet you'd still have Sprint and the same number. But if you unlock it, it shouldn't cause any problems.
