The culture affects it. For example, the main issues of the election (gay marriage, terrorism, etc) are mostly issues in the blue states. So it would seem to me that they had a better grasp on the issues.

I don't think so. I'm a Washington State native (though I lived in other states, like South Carolina, California, and Oklahoma), and I'm an Independent, or non-affiliated. My mom is a Republican. So was my dad. Most people I knew in South Carolina and Oklahoma were Democrats. Most people that I knew in California were Democrats as well, though there were quite a few Republicans.
Washington is primarily a Democratic state, but I know plenty of conservative Republicans from there.
I don't think where a person lives has ANYTHING to do with their political persuasion.

Most people(liberals) who voted for John Kerry were obviously in a state of confusion because putting a draft dodger as commander in chief made little to no sense. I would assume this type of state would affect your leaning dramatically.

a large form of human beings hate my state. Massachusetts is the suited state. To the guy who referred to as us stupid, our time-honored IQ is 112, making us the 2d smartest after Connecticut. saying that state that has Harvard is stupid, is, properly... stupid. we've intense taxes because of the fact are public colleges are multiple the suited interior the rustic. And the two smartest states have legalized gay marriage. Hmmm... via ways, Ted Kennedy is a huge guy. He began the nutrition on Wheels software. Barney Frank is a congressman from the 4th district, that's south of Cape Cod. i'm interior the 1st district. My congressman, John Olver, became into arrested some years in the past, alongside with 4 different congressman, for proteststing the Darfur genocide on the Sudanese embassy. it is distinctly amazing precise there. As for Barney Frank, we like him right here. he's a solid guy. he's clever, blunt, and has a razor-wit. a uncommon baby-kisser who cares approximately human beings. As for states i wouldn't stay in... Texas. invoice Nye became into booed for the time of a lecture at a university in Waco because of the fact he stated the earth revolves around the solar, no longer any opposite direction around, because of the fact the bible says. to no longer point out, i could no longer stand being close to a large form of redneck Republicans. rich Republicans make experience, yet detrimental Republicans? somewhat atypical to me. they're way too non secular there, as evidenced interior the Waco incident. i think of they even have those extraordinary mega-church homes there. that is too warm for me there, too. additionally, i do no longer elect to could learn Spanish to get a job. i does no longer elect to stay in ny the two, yet it is via Boston good judgment. Yankees are from ny, and that they are the Evil Empire. it is why i became into so offended while ny Macy's offered Boston Filene's. Boston good judgment, each thing from ny is undesirable because of the Yankees.
