It depends largely on what triggers your allergies. Some have mentioned birds, but I have known people to be allergic to a bird's dander. This occurs when the bird preens itself, ruffles itself up and the flakes of dry skin tend to go airborne.
Fish are a good bet, but aren't the cuddly things most people think of as a pet. There are hairless and short coated chihuahuas that are known to be beneficial for people with asthma. Many people who suffer with asthma have reported their symptoms completely disappeared when they cuddled with a chihuahua - and they certainly don't need much more space than the average house cat. Your lap is where they belong.
If you intend to have an outside dog - do NOT get a chihuahua.
The skin and hair/fur of any variety of poodle is usually not going to be a problem to a person with allergies - and they crave attention from their humans. These are also not outside dogs.
Frogs and hermit crabs, box turtles and red-ear sliders are all excellent pets. And don't overlook the garter snake - a docile reptile if ever there was.
There are hairless cats that pose no harm to people with allergies - but they need to be indoor pets only.

By all means, not a bird. I love birds but birds have a dander that flies when they ruffle their feathers that flies in the air and is really bad for someone with allergies. A dog is good as long as it has very short hair like a smooth Terrier. Some dogs are actually wonderful around people with allergies. Chihuahuas and little "weiner dogs" are great too.

Hmm Ferrets are fantastic, theyre so energetic and playful, not so much as cuddly because theyed rather play, and yes they do have a nateral strong musky odor and if you get one your whole house will smell like a ferret, even if their scent glans are removed. Also if your house isnt ferret proofed they will get into everything and hide things and stuff Guinea pigs are very sweet and calm and cuddly, you need two females, also they are timid and scared easily and shy at first Rabbits are soo cute dwarf rabbits are more energetic and get all riled up if theyre in their cage too long. Even though they can be wild sometimes they also are very calm and sweet and bond with their owner. They LOVE being pet and held especially if you rub their cheeks, and give them vegetables :) Chinchilas are great I hear, never owned one but they need allot of time to socialize and they take sand baths and need hugee cages. Rats are very sweet, smart and love cuddling and exploring, but dont live too long Mice are adorable they run around in their cage and its fun to watch, sometimes they love being taken out and held, they are so curious and I love them to death. Hamsters are very cute too and like any rodent theyre curious and energetic, but allot calmer than mice Gerbils are just as energized as mice but allot bigger Well those are all the pets I think could suit you, before you look into buying do tons of research :)

Try something like an iguana or turtle. If you have allergies anything with fur probably won't be a good idea.

Rats make wonderful pets.
They are small, easy and inexpensive to care for, they are smart and will bond with you, much less aggressive than hampsters or gerbils,(aside from the tail, they look identical) and clean. The downside is that you must be careful not to let them get away, they will quickly become as pesky as their infamous kin. I prefer the females as they don't have large genitilia dragging behind them. The repulsion factor is neat too,."You have a RAT!!!"
PS..if you decide to feed your rat dog kibble, make sure they don't hear you call it that, they may refuse to eat it.

Fish, reptiles, certain small animals like rats, and some breeds of dogs and cats; ex: toy poodle, or Cornish Rex are considred "hypo-allergenic" breeds. Ask advice from your local Humane Society.
