Go to a book store or the library and ask for the book "Irish Tales of Terror". I don't think it has an author, because it's from various authors (some known and anonymous). But it's full of really good and scary Irish ghost stories and tales.

OK this storie is a very good one. years ago demons ruled the earth and 12 great gods of the earth gathered a 1000 people from there army and a 1000 magical beings and they battled the daemons grew weaker until at last the Battle was coming to a end the devil cast his spell and the gods were the only ones left they summoned god the Crater of life god fought against the demons but Little did the Damon's knew that 4 witches were trying to find the great book of white magic. the Battle was coming to a end. the witches were under attack by the darkest soccer who was not on the side of the devil but on his own. the strongest with sent the book to the gods they cast a spell and sent the daemons back to the underworld but a terrible price the died. later god cast a spell of his own and Sint the devil to hell. there was only one survive and that was god. there may have been more we just dint know.

So, Jack carved out one of his turnips, put a candle inside it, and began endlessly wandering the Earth for a resting place. He was known as "Jack of the Lantern", or Jack-o'-Lantern.
