Rather than check a website I'll hazard a guess based on what I've seen. Besides. That's the way you should do it, then check your sources and see if your head is screwed on right and weren't taking ' Aerodynamics ' in science class. All juice looks for a conductant or path. Whatever is in the atmosphere will cause it to manifest itself as an electrical discharge and shape as well as direction. Yes. I think it'll hit the water and probably kill a lot of marine life depending on their proximity. But; they tend to keep a certain level below the surface. Ever notice? Okay. As in the desert, it hits and thoroughly fires whatever it hits, so too in water. Except that water is a beautiful conductant of electricity, and given that the ocean is so big, the charge will probably dissipate over not much under the surface. Hope this at least gets you in the ballpark.
