It plays almost identical to the first one.. so, if your kid likes Star wars and legos, it might be worth a buy, or possibly a rent. Also, The story is set in the first trilogy. The gameplay has only minor differences, such as "bounty hunters" who can open special doors and throw weak grenades, and some characters can do a special jump attack shooting three blaster shots repeatedly.. Other than that the changes are mostly cosmetic.. My favorite Change was that they allowed Chewbacca to pull the arms off a stormtrooper like in the movies!

If he still enjoys playing the first one now and then, definately get it, if hes grown bored, well, might want to ask him first.

Im 21 and i played both games, both about halfway through. I personally thought with both of them the gameplay was just too easy and got bored. Mainly I played to reminisce back to the time when i played with legos. And Ive always loved the star wars series

I bought the first Lego Star Wars for the Xbox and loved it. Right now, I have the demo for Lego Star Wars 2 on my 360 and still enjoy it.

the second one is even better than the first. why not try it out for yourself as well. I'm 24 years old and have no problem admitting that I loved both games :)
