When I go to a laundromat, I only take pairs of socks. It takes a little longer to sort them, but if I have an odd sock afterward, I know it is still at the laundromat. Most places keep a box of left behind items. At home, I put any odd socks aside and check them against other odd socks in future loads. If they don't find a mate in a reasonable time, they join the rag bag, but if the sock came from a multi-pack of identical socks, I will keep it longer in case one of the others turns up missing or gets a hole. A sock slipped over your hand works great for dusting baseboards, trim, and door frames.

I wear them with another sock that doesnt match, who the hell looks at socks when you wear pants anyway. Don't worry, no one will make fun. Make a lost sock Quilt if you are in a situation where 2 socks HAVE to match.

Also Socks with holes make great gloves with a little sewing!

Well, there are a couple things I can think of. Either you can make sock monkeys out of them, or you can take soap scraps from bar soap or a bar of soap, stuff the sock with them, tie a knot in the end & use it as a shower sponge, or just throw them away.

I like to keep them. Especially if they are in good shape. If you are wearing high boots, you can wear unmatched socks. Nobody will see. When I am feeling really lazy or my mop is just shot out, I will put the unmatched socks on, spray the kitchen floor with the cleaner and just dance all over it.

I use them to dust. Put your hand inside the sock and it makes dusting a breeze. Especially in hard to reach places.

You keep them in case one of the pairs that matches gets a hole in it or something then you would have a new match.

Or you can use it to dust of clean with .

Or even better if you have kids could make craft stuff with it like puppets .

Dust with them. Next time, buy hundreds and hundreds of the same socks, then you won't have the problem!

I keep throwing them back in the laundry in the hope that they will find their mate and become a couple again. Eventually, down the road, I go through my drawers and get rid of old clothes and anyone that is a straggler at that point gets tossed.

While you can toss them, use them to clean, keep washing hoping the other one will show up eventually, my favorite thing to do with them is to:

MAKE SOCK PUPPETS.
