That theory has been araound for centuries and so far nothing has happened. Altough a lot of political leaders araound the world are freemasons.

Conspiracy theorists often cite circumstantial evidence to support their belief that Freemasons secretly wield great power and influence. According to Freemason Web sites, nine of the Founding Fathers who signed the Declaration of Independence were members, as were 14 U.S. presidents, eight vice presidents and at least 35 Supreme Court justices.

Members have historically shunned publicity; they use symbols and rituals that members vow not to reveal; and they hold closed meetings. The story goes that President Theodore Roosevelt, a member, couldn't even get his Secret Service agents in.

"We prefer to use the word 'private' instead of 'secret,' " says Robert Leonard, a public relations specialist hired to help recruitment efforts. "Secrecy came from the initial thing where a password or secret handshake was exchanged so people would know they were professional stonemasons. Now we use it as part of our tradition."

Grand Master Richard Fletcher, executive secretary of the Masonic Services Association in Washington, D.C., points to the organization's charitable work. He says Freemasons raise about $750 million annually nationwide for nursing homes, day care centers, educational facilities and other programs. "That's a lot of money (just) to lull somebody into thinking you are a good person," Fletcher says.

No we Freemasons have no plan to gain worldwide power. Our organization is one that seems to attract the best that society has to offer. Some of the most courageous and thoughtful people the world has ever seen have been Members of the Craft. At least 19 US Presidents, most of this Country's Founding Fathers, Many of our most courageous Military leaders, many, many big names in Sports & Entertainment, heck the first man on the Moon was a Brother Mason. Our concordant bodies have done a lot of charitable works throughout the years like the Scottish Rite and the Shrine. You have to be a Freemason in order to be a Shriner and we Shriners support 22 childrens hospitals where the only requirement for receiving care is that the child's family cannot afford to pay for it. Let me tell you, as a former Shrine Clown, I have visited a number of these hospitals, especially the burns hospital in Cincinnatti, and when there's no medicine in the world that can take the pain away, a Clown can be funny and make baloon animals and such to distract, and make the poor suffering little ones forget about the pain for a brief time. Tell me something that's more rewarding than that?

YES, but only over themselves.... they help each other, maybe even with a little preference, much like any other organization, but they are mainly active on a local area level, directing their efforts towards bettering their communities as best they can. In a larger effort, Shriners from different temples work together to build children's hospitals and fund them.

I have not yet found any sign of a conspiracy to take over any government. Since it appears there was some influence regarding the design of the reverse of the US one dollar, many people speculate and watch for signs of any movement by Masons towards a power grab.... but, people can rest assured, the bulk of the Masons would not tolerate such a move, they are freedom loving individuals.

Secret handshakes and words have given rise to the conspiracy rumors..... but most members are just good ordinary citizens in their communities and certainly are not plotting to take power at any level of government.

They did, however if any reminants of the freemasons still exist they simply dont have to power to execute it. If you interested in that read Angels and Demons by Dan Brown. I read it a while ago and as i recall it had some stuff about the freemasons

I come from a family of freemasons and have never thought that. I guess there is a group of people who believe in this and that the ordinary masons don't know about this plan. I can't imagine my father and step father planning world domination. We are leaving that up to Stewie....

How long have Freemasons been around? 1700 or so. If they have a secret plan, so what. In 400 years it hasn't worked.

Why would you think there would be one today that matters. They might have a zillion but so what.

No but try looking at the alliance currently being forged between Russia,Iran and South Africa. Together they will hold nearly the entire mineral and oil wealth on the Planet which they can then use to hold the West to ransom.
