They should not only resign but they SHOULD BE investigated. If they had to cover, they might have been involved.

Anyone, and I do mean anyone from any party, who knew, had to be obviously aware that nothing was being done about it. If action was taken by any House members or staff, none of them found it important enough to follow through.
This should have been a police matter from the very moment anyone was aware of the crime. The welfare and safety of any minor is of more importance than alerting the GOP leadership or the press.
Let the House have all the inquires and investigations it likes. Roll out the side show of cover ups and who knew what and when. What should be clear and to the point is that Mark Foley is not above the law, and should be arrested, charged, and face his victim in a court of law.

I wonder if Foley will get an ACLU attorney to represnt him. Yes they should resign, this has been a cover up and cover ups are wrong. But with the repuglican party, you can not expect them to do the right thing unless they are caught red handed, maybe in November when the Democrats take over there will be an investigation into the wrong doing that has been going on in the last 6 years.

Do you mind if we find out all of the facts first? I think if Foley is guilty he should be punished in the courts not necessarily in the House of Reps (though if guilty he should resign). However, if you want to force the standards you are talking about, they must be across the board. It will be interesting to find out who released copies of the IMs to the media and how long they sat on it before releasing the information. In saying this I mean was this persons concern for the safety of the interns or for political gain. If Foley checked into any rehab he is doing what all people of power do (ie Patrick Kennedy, Mel Gibson, the list is long on all sides), this is a luxury that is not afforded to the rest of us, & should have no bearing on his case. Let's all watch the references to NAMBLA, that is a different issue, and there are more child predator groups than that out there. Pedophiles don't always recognize a gender difference, so I doubt seriously if they recognize a political preference either.

Ecery perverted one who knew and said nothing is as guilty as Foley is and they should resign..If they dont that Hawk in the White house should insist that they be expelled from his party.These men failed the trust of the people who elected them...and even now they are more concerned with their own power than they are with the safety of children. They said they were the party of family values again they lied.....they have lied about everything get the Republicans out.

That would be the classy thing to do...lol...but it won't happen.
There should be an investigation, and there probably will be, but it'll likely be one of those toothless half-assed things where most of them admit to some wrongdoing but nobody's really punished, except perhaps by voters.
P.S. Is it just me, or is the "Black Gunman" exactly wrong about literally everything?
P.P.S. - Note how all the wanna-be "con" groupies are bringing up Barney Frank and making all kinds of wild accusations, simply because he's OPENLY gay. Because ya see, that's the difference. He's openly gay and partnered with an adult. Meanwhile YOUR boy, who supports anti-gay legislation with your party, is a closeted homo hypocrite who preys on little boys. The conclusion is that there's nothing wrong with being gay, but there's a whole hell of a lot wrong with suppression and denial.

I think when he resigned his salary stopped. But these guys have awarded them selves such a pension he might have gotten a pay raise.
And the benefits, o yea, I expect every living member of his family (maybe even the dead ones) through 3rd cousins is enjoying medical stuff at the taxpayers expense.

I think Foley checked into AA so he could blame his indiscretions on an "illness". Sort of like Mel Gibson.
The resignations depends on what they knew. If they just heard they were overly friendly and the parents actually did say they didn't want it pursued, I think they can let it go.

i'm having a similar difficulty. i will open the 1st digital mail or so yet after that i won't flow the digital mail, respond to it, forward it, etc. If i'm in my Inbox while this takes place i won't open an digital mail, delete, etc. I could sign out and sign back in yet this basically works for a jiffy. It takes place in the two Firefox and Safari. I cleared cookies and cache in the two. each and every thing else is working fantastic. help!
