Where in the world would you live, outside the USA, if your criteria was a comfortable climate, reasonable cost of living, friendliness of people and employment opportunities?

Canada would be the obvious choice for most Americans because they have a similar culture and lifestyle but it probably gets too cold for most. Australia would be a good choice but I've heard they have some big,vicious poisonous spiders and I have arachnophobia so Australia would be out for me. That leaves me with Italy but I doubt I could ever afford it.
